e-DEVOY Project:
Welcome to e-DEVOY – e-Democracy: Empowering European Youth Voices, an Erasmus+ Youth Participation project dedicated to strengthening the connection between young people and democratic processes across Europe. In a rapidly evolving digital world, young citizens face both unprecedented opportunities and significant challenges when it comes to participating in civic life. Through this project, we aim to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to become active contributors to democratic societies and influential voices within their communities.
Democracy thrives when citizens are informed, engaged, and empowered to participate in decision-making processes. However, many young people today feel disconnected from political institutions and uncertain about how they can influence decisions that affect their lives. e-DEVOY was created to bridge this gap by providing meaningful opportunities for young people to engage with democratic systems through innovative digital tools, participatory activities, and direct dialogue with decision-makers.
The digital transformation of society has fundamentally changed the way people communicate, learn, organize, and participate in public life. Social media platforms, online consultation tools, digital campaigns, and virtual communities have created new pathways for civic engagement. Through e-DEVOY, young people will explore how these tools can be used responsibly and effectively to strengthen democratic participation and encourage positive social change.
At the heart of the project lies a commitment to youth empowerment. We believe that young people are not simply future leaders; they are leaders today. Their ideas, perspectives, creativity, and energy are essential for addressing the challenges facing Europe. By creating spaces for dialogue and participation, we seek to amplify youth voices and ensure they are heard within democratic institutions and public discussions.
The project promotes active citizenship by encouraging young people to understand their rights and responsibilities as members of democratic societies. Through educational activities and practical experiences, participants will develop a deeper understanding of civic engagement, public participation, democratic values, and the role they can play in shaping their communities and Europe as a whole.
